I’ve spent a lifetime in sport and in expedition world; from man hauling across Greenland with a team of elite Gurkhas to becoming European and World Masters pole vault champion, I know what it takes to achieve success in the physical arena.
However it’s the growth of BAM as a brand I’m most proud of, with its values of putting people and planet at its core, demonstrating to bigger brands that you can succeed by doing things ‘the right way’.
In 2005 I discovered the softness of bamboo fabric, made from the most sustainable crop on the planet, and I knew that I’d found something special. Many years of hard work and innovation later we have an inspiring range orange of supersoft clothes created for active people who care about the planet.
Everything in our range feels supremely soft, is 4 times more absorbent than cotton and is created from the most sustainable crop available.
In almost any area of physical endeavour, you can test yourself in more comfort wearing BAM than any other activewear brand.
You should try some!
- Bamboo is the fastest growing crop on the planet.
- It can grow over a meter a day with only natural rainfall, so no extra irrigation or pesticides are required.
- It absorbs 5 times more CO2 and releases 35% more oxygen than the equivalent amount of hardwood trees and the yield can be up to 10 times higher than cotton.
- Grown in the spectacular ancient Shunan Bamboo forest, the largest in China.
This makes it one the most sustainable raw materials available and why we choose to use it as the starting point for all our clothing
Picture of Ali or someone at factory Paragraph about our ethos in terms of supplier relationships, how we treat people (bam staff people and customers?)
Customer service super important We’d genuinely rather make a bit less money and have loads of really pleased and satisfied customers and suppliers and have fun ourselves than go the awful corporate route of ‘get away with what you can, maximise profit and pretend to be whiter than white’.
Small supply base – enables us to build real relationships with them
