My most embarrassing moment has be the turning up at Athens airport to fly home from the Olympics, and realising that I was not in possession of either a ticket or passport!

Helen Reeves
on most embarrassing moment.

Helen reached her first big dream in life at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens when she became the first british women to win an Olympic Canoeing medal, taking the bronze in the Canoe Slalom. Although having dreamed of gold, her bronze medal on that day made the many years of shoulder operations and injuries worth while.

Retiring from international competition post Athens, Helen enjoyed the Beijing and the London Olympics from the bank side, adding colour to the BBC’s commentating team, a role she’ll also very much looking forward to playing next year in Rio.

Helen is not one for letting the grass grow under her feet, and is now working with Maximus Media an independent production company who produce ‘The Canoe Show’ a show designed to lift the lid on the world of paddle sport.

Helen is not one for sitting still and there is little opportunity for that now with her two little children Charlie and Maya to run round after, she always on the looked out for a challenge and adventure and is currently training in reflexology with the hope to keep her own and other peoples body’s and soul’s fit and healthy.
