It’s International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8th March 2022 and we are taking the time to celebrate female achievement across the world. This year for us we want to highlight 3 wonderful women who continue to inspire us. Not only that but over on our Instagram page you also have the opportunity to shout out those women who YOU are inspired by. So keep an eye out on our Instagram stories and get involved! To kick things off we’d like to introduce you to Meryn Chilcott, Sustainability and Technical Manager here at Bamboo Clothing…

MERRYN CHILCOTT

The driver behind our impact positive achievements. Not only is Merryn a kind & friendly face in the office. She is also incredibly passionate about what she does. Merryn has developed a wealth of knowledge for BAM in the last 4 years, and has achieved what no-one else could with our 73 Zero range of circular clothing. Keep an eye out on our Instagram for an exciting opportunity to get to know Merryn even better… Exclusive video coming soon!

Hettyiwd2022

HETTY KEY

Next up we have Hetty… Mountain biking, climbing, researching, organising Women’s Trad Festival… And, not to mention, being an overall awesome human. BAMBassador Hetty Key is a woman of many talents, and we are continuously inspired by the myriad of awesome projects she works on. More recently we are loving her Peak Gravel Gang, a friendly group which encourages anyone of any cycling ability to join the group for social rides, coffee and cake. Where can we sign up?!

Louise Cook

LOUISE COOKE

Last but by no means least we have Louise Cooke, the CEO of Sharewear Clothing Scheme. A voluntary programme that seeks to transform lives by eliminating clothing poverty. At BAM we have watched Sharewear go from strength to strength. In fact, last year, it was so popular we had to put our efforts on pause to ensure the team weren’t overwhelmed by all of the wonderful donations!

“𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘢𝘴𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤.”

We are so pleased that all BAM customers are now able to donate any clothes (BAM or not) to Sharewear by requesting a postage-paid bag at checkout. The team at Sharewear will then distribute your clothes to those who really need it. We are delighted to be able to continue this partnership with Sharewear which of course wouldn’t have been possible without the very brilliant Louise.
