Purple Sock Day is on 3rd December 2022, coinciding with the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). It’s your chance to wear your official purple socks to promote the need for disability inclusion.

How do I get involved?

It’s pretty simple.

  1. Buy a pair of purple socks
  2. Tell all your friends to buy a pair of purple socks
  3. Wait til 3rd December
  4. Put your socks on
It’s the very first Purple Sock Day

After the success of last year’s first ever Purple Sock Day, we’re supporting Parallel again in 2022 with a brand-new purple sock design.

And BAM are proud to be making and selling the official Purple Socks. We celebrate being the best you can be regardless of age and ability so we’re delighted to support Purple Sock Day organiser Parallel in raising awareness of disability inclusion by making these unbelievably soft bamboo performance socks.

Why should I get involved?

Purple Sock Day was created by social enterprise Parallel which aims to support disabled people to be free to live life to the full in mainstream society.  But Purple Sock Day is not just about showing support and raising awareness, it is also about raising money.

Where will the money raised go?

50% of money raised from the sale of purple socks will provide grants to D/deaf and disabled entrepreneurs, along with professional advice, mentoring, networking opportunities and tailored business support across a range of disabilities. This is about opportunity for all, no one left behind.

The remaining 50% will be re-invested into growing Purple Sock Day into an annual event and other Parallel social enterprise projects which deliver an attitude of ‘no limits’ living.
