A performance jacket that’s sustainable too
We’re for people who love the outdoors and want truly sustainable clothing. That’s why this jacket had to be breathable and 100% waterproof. It’s also why we used 98% recycled materials and designed it to be recyclable. To make all this possible we had to be creative: this is our first jacket with no bamboo.

How we designed our jacket to be recyclable
Designing this jacket to be recyclable meant we needed to make it from a single material Finding a material that would work for our fabric, zip, trims and thread and that could also be sourced in a recycled form was the first challenge. And then we had to get into the detail:
Storm Flap.
Our jackets have a double layer waterproof storm flap. This meant we could make our zip from the same material as the rest of the jacket and that we avoided using a coated waterproof zip which is not recyclable.
Polyester Velcro.
Velcro can’t easily be removed and using a standard nylon Velcro would have made the jacket harder to recycle. We used polyester Velcro - the same material as the rest of the jacket - so it could be recycled as one piece.
Toggles and cuffs.
These two trims couldn’t be made from the same material as the jacket. We therefore made sure they were easy to remove and recycle separately and we chose aluminium for our toggles as it’s one of the most widely recycled metals.
100% waterproof
Waterproof coatings normally contain PFCs which are damaging for marine life, so we've used Teflon EcoElite™ which is PFC-free. To maintain your jacket, we recommend spot cleaning your jacket and only washing when really needed. To restore your jacket’s waterproof coating, we recommend Nikwax Tech Wash®.
