Merchandising KPIs

– Understand the customer
– Trading to achieve sales and margin budget
– Selling Margin
– Manage the markdown spend to achieve profit
– Managing the Buy and Open to Buy (OTB).  
– Management of stock to ensure closing stock target is met  

 

Key Functions of MAA Role

Trade  

• Set up and input into Monday trade pack, WSSI, best sellers 
• Set up line flows on continuity products, to ensure never out of stock; work with production on this
• Work with production and factories to ensure on time deliveries and 100% launch achieved
• Analyse Sales and data to feed back into JM on promotional and sale proposals and future seasons 
• Work with e-com team on trading the site
• Work with e-com team on setting up creative range plans, style set-up and admin
• Competition – keep track of competition, pricing and promotions
• International markets – analyse sales and feedback any key findings
 

Critical Path Management 

• Work with garment tech on product critical path
• Work with production on deliveries and in-take management
• Work with JM on department key dates
 

Range Planning 

• Help with the analysis of the season to create future strategies
• General admin duties during selection and sign off
• Set up the range plan and creative range plan
• Set size ratios for new season buy and raise purchase orders
• Raise purchase orders
 

Misc

• Wholesale stock management
• Management of lab dips from previous seasons
 

Skills

• PC literate in Excel
• Analytical and decision-making skills
• Be Commercial aware.  Understand the customer and review competition

Junior UX Designer - Plymouth, South West

The Role

A new role in a growing area within BAM, we are looking for an experienced Junior User Experience Designer to work with our CRO & UX team and Technical Manager with the goal to create the best digital experiences for our online shoppers. Responsibilities will include creating intuitive designs for A/B tests, analysing the website to find areas of improvement, inclusivity and ensuring our customers are at the heart of everything we do.

Reporting To:  UX Designer

Main duties

  • Work with the UX & CRO team to build strong data and research driven A/B hypothesis and design solutions that can be successfully tested.
  • Support the UX Designer with project work, pushing the customer experience forward and ensuring our customers are represented with the design output.
  • Maintain the digital Style Guide ensuring the document is up to date, and a true reflection of the website as the company progresses.
  • Plan and conduct User Research and competitor analysis to find areas of the customer journey that need improvement.
  • Be comfortable in presenting back ideas, prototypes, and wireframes to the wider team for design feedback, developer input and iterate based on feedback.
  • Learn to work in an agile / iterative way.
  • Work with the front-end developer(s) ensuring your designs for tests / projects are on spec, pixel perfect and will technically work using our existing technologies on site or understanding the limitations of testing.
  • Stay up to date on the latest emerging technologies

Essential Experience

  • Strong demonstrable experience as a Junior User Experience Designer
  • Knowledge of industry tools such as Sketch or similar: (Invision, Adobe XD etc) and Adobe CC.
  • 1 – 2 years (minimum) of Commercial experience working on either products or public facing interactive websites
  • The ability to demonstrate a past track record of success with a portfolio showing UX examples, what was the problem you were trying to fix, and how did your solution(s) improve the user experience.
  • The ability to present your portfolio clearly demonstrating design thinking, problem solving and a user centric mindset.
  • Good attention to detail even under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and alongside colleagues with time management skills
  • The ability to learn new skills
  • A high standard of English and grammar
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and the development process.

Nice to have

  • Experience within WordPress and Woocommerce
  • An understanding of Ecommerce shopping behaviours and best practices in UX Design
  • A positive and creative attitude to change
  • Have a solid understanding of the challenges of designing across devices, and work from a mobile first standpoint.
  • Experience briefing in development teams based on design work, with the ability to look at the bigger picture to ensure proposed designs are robust and future proof.
  • Understand the need to be data driven and let the data do the talking
  • Experience with Usability testing (remote or monitored)

Package

  • Salary: £20k – 25k depending on experience
  • Holiday: 20 days plus Bank Holidays.
  • You must be eligible to live and work in the UK or hold a valid work permit.
  • Hours: Full-time, 5 hours a week – 0900 to 1700, half an hour for lunch.
  • Staff Discount.
  • Location: BAM office in Plymouth, occasional attendance at London office and elsewhere as required by the business.

Junior Front End Web Developer - Plymouth, South West

The Role

A new role in a growing area within BAM, we are looking for an experienced Junior Front End Web Developer to work with our UX team and Technical Manager with the goal to create the best digital experiences for our online shoppers. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX wireframes / designs to actual code that will produce visual elements on our website that delight our customers.

 

Reporting To:  UX Designer

Main duties

  • Taking UI / UX Designs and turning them into workable code for our website 
  • Working with the UX Design Team to ensure the website is consistent with the Style Guide
  • Apply best practise coding knowledge to deliver well-structured, considered and re-useable code
  • Develop CSS/HTML/JS & jQuery-based tests which manipulate the DOM to run experiments that can inform our decisions based on data.
  • Work on optimising the website, striving for a streamlined and effortless experience for customers with minimal page load times

Essential Experience

  • Strong demonstrable experience as a Junior Front End Web Developer
  • Excellent Front End coding knowledge: HTML5, CSS, jQuery & JS are a must, including mobile-first responsive web design
  • 1 – 2 years (minimum) of Commercial experience working on public facing interactive websites
  • The ability to demonstrate a past track record of success with portfolio / live site examples
  • You can show examples where you have taken a design and have coded this as per the job / project spec.
  • Good attention to detail even under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and alongside colleagues with time management skills
  • The ability to learn new skills
  • A high standard of English and grammar

 

Nice to have

  • Experience within WordPress and Woocommerce, with basic understanding on backend technology
  • An understanding of ecommerce shopping behaviours and best practices in Web Design
  • A positive and creative attitude to change
  • Have a solid understanding of the challenges of cross-browser development.
  • Experience using and adding code into testing tools such as Google Optimise, Covert, VWO, etc.

Package

  • Salary: £25k – 30k depending on experience 
  • Holiday: 20 days plus Bank Holidays.
  • You must be eligible to live and work in the UK or hold a valid work permit.
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours a week – 0900 to 1700, half an hour for lunch.
  • Staff Discount.
  • Location: BAM office in Plymouth, occasional attendance at London office and elsewhere as required by the business.
