Founder David Gordon shares his top 5 styles to train in. Backed by a degree in sports science and a lifetime in elite sport, including titles as a European and World Masters pole vault champion – these are the pieces he’s tested to perform.
This classic, best-selling training T is in our air fabric, lightweight, breathable, in a timeless blue, with a design flair that lifts how you feel, without being out on a limb. When you stick this on, you just feel ready for action, in a bit more of a classy way than some scraggy old T-shirt. It’s a regular, flattering BAM shape.
This is half a size tighter than our classic Training T. Lightweight and super wicking; stunningly effective and comfortable for long and/or heavy workouts. Our old triathlete finance director called this Novea T-shirt a ‘revelation’, a ‘game-changer’. We don’t shout enough about this one, it’s a world class training/running T and super comfy.
The Brook Active shorts have become such a ‘go to’ staple in my shorts drawer. Whether I’m doing Pilates, running, pole vault training or lifting weights, these fit the bill. The perfect training shorts, crafted over about 15 years of trial and error. Oh yes, and they double as holiday throw on shorts, the ones you end up spending your entire holiday in. Those ones. With mandatory hidden zip pockets, so nothing critical falls out.
All our trainer socks are in the ‘must have’ category, I just like the white with navy heel/toe. No matter what the activity, these are so comfy, I’ve never had a blister in them, only good memories. Trainer socks maximise the length of your lower legs visually, making them look better. These are the best trainer socks I’ve ever come across. Otherwise, we’d have changed and improved them. Again, I’ve crafted these over more than 15 years, they haven’t changed in the last 10 or so, because they’re already perfect. No sock drawer is complete without these. It’s just a case of which colours you like.
If it’s cold enough to be training in a base layer, I have to be honest, I always reach for the BAM reflex base layer. Of course it’s super comfy, really warm, keeps you at the right temperature, does all the base layer things in a super comfortable way, but it’s the flatlock (for comfort) stitch pattern of the reflex, the ones around the shoulders, that make your shoulders look bigger and your waist slimmer, you just feel great in these and they flatter you; I know it’s not all about optics, at the end of the day, who really cares, but if you can feel really good when you exercise, no harm in that is there?
