Bower Collective’s Non-Bio Laundry Liquid

Bower Collective[53]

Wanting to live more sustainably feels particularly prevalent in today’s world. Reusing plastic bags for your weekly shop, brushing your teeth with a non-plastic toothbrush and metal straws for your all-important morning commute coffee. But what happens when you want more than that? When you want to make a real impact, from the comfort of your own home? It can be all too easy to get lost in the sea of sustainably focussed businesses on the marketplace. And it can be even harder prioritising sustainable products when the cost simply doesn’t fit within your budget. That’s where our friends at Bower Collective come in.

After supporting our recent Dare to Wear Longer campaign, Bower have been kind enough to send us their Non-Bio Laundry Liquid to trial. This felt very fitting as our campaign challenged our customers to wear their clothes longer in between washes. Why? We calculated that 26%* of the carbon emissions generated by our clothes throughout their lifecycle are created when customers put them in the washing machine.

So Who are Bower Collective?

If you haven’t heard, Bower Collective are on a mission to help make sustainable living accessible to all by eliminating waste from your home. Bringing you a myriad of products that look good, feel good, reduce waste and are sustainable and effective. From household to haircare, these guys don’t accept that waste is inevitable and are passionate about supporting you on your journey by providing effective, sustainable and affordable products. By manufacturing in the UK, Bower also provide some of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly cleaning solutions on the market. So, you can be assured that you’re in safe hands.

Non-Bio Laundry Liquid

We were lucky enough to try out Bower’s Non-Bio Laundry Liquid in the heavenly scent, lavender. Made with ethically sourced ingredients and fragranced with essential oilswe knew we were in for a treat with this one. Adding a little luxury to something as mundane as our routinely clothes wash. The smell wasn’t at all overpowering and clothes came oubrilliantly clean. For someone who has only recently started their journey to shopping more sustainably, this feels like a brilliant alternative to typical high-street brands.

Another great thing about Bower Collective is that they offer a ‘once only’ offer or subscription service. Meaning you can have your favourite products refilled as and when you need them. Once your refill pouch is empty you can return these to Bower with your pre-paid postal return box. They typically advise you to collect about 4 refillable pouches before returning to them – to be most efficient and environmentally friendly! They then recycle the pouches with their specialist partner so you can sit back and relax whilst reducing your impact on the planet! Not to mention, every purchase you make helps the Marine Conservation Society protect 1m2 of endangered seagrass. Find out more about their initiative here.

So living sustainably doesn’t just mean having to make BIG changes to help fix our planet. Embracing a more sustainable lifestyle starts with us as individuals and the small steps that we can put in place to begin with.
