The pole vaulting diaries

I had an interesting chat with my old coach and pal Brian Hooper, the ex pole vaulter and Superstar who also has a very keen interest in fitness as we get older (just turned 65, he warns me of what’s to come…). Still heavily involved in athletics and training, he focuses on power and mobility for older people and athletes, because these are the two key elements that drop off, in a ‘use it or lose it’ kind of way. Hip and shoulder mobility and leg power, specifically. If we keep these rolling, at any age from 40 upwards, we get and keep a great platform to make the most of life.
